Campania offers a deep sense of art and marvellous nature to the heart and sight of every visitor. Naples is the largest urban centre in Southern Italy and is a chaotic but spectacular town. Sited over its famous gulf and dominated by Vesuvio, with the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida in front, it offers charming views.
First of all visit the Royal Palace, built in the Bourbon Age and today rich in works of art and precious furnishings, the Maschio Angioino, or Castel Nuovo, erected in the Thirteenth Century with the splendid hall of Barons and the Chapel of Saint Barbara; then the Churches of Carmine, the Cloister, the Cathedral, "Gesù Nuovo", Girolomini, Saint Clair, Saint Dominic, Saint Ferdinando, Saint Francis of Paola, Saint John Carbonara, Saint Gregory Armenian, "Castel dell'Ovo", "Castel Sant'Elmo" and "Castel Capuano".
Vesuvio is the most famous volcano in the world and it is the only active one in Europe. Vesuvio National Park was officially founded in 1995 with the aim of preserving animal and vegetable species and to protect geological peculiarities.
The fauna of the park is particularly rich and interesting: you will be able to find more than one hundred species of bird, while among the mammals, you may find the oak mouse, rare in other parts of Italy, the dormouse, the beech-marten, the fox, the wild rabbit and the hare.
In Pompei and Ercolano you will find the most important ruins of the Roman age in Italy.
Agnano, in " Campi Flegrei", Pozzuoli, Casamicciola Terme, Torre Annunziata, Castellamare di Stabia, Vico Equense, Sorrento, S. Agata sui Due Golfi, Anacapri are frequently visited due to the beauty of their landscapes.

Cilento is a strip of uncontaminated territory that includes the possessions of Campania, bordered in the north by the Alburni Mountains, in the east by the "Vallo of Diano" and in the south by the border of Basilicata.
In this wonderful landscape, green hills alternate with ancient inhabited centres, level plains that lead to the sea and to the mountains, downstream limpid courses of water run (where otters still live today).
" The Certosa of Padula", the Cave of Pertosa, the Blue Cave in Palinuro, the Cave of Castelcivita, and "the Calore river" deserve a visit.
