We suggest a visit to Pisa (the Romanesque-Pisan cathedral, the baptistery, the leaning tower and the "Camposanto"- the churchyard); next to Lucca , which still has a unique charm, with its fourteen kilometres of walls, built in the sixteenth century (the cathedral, Guinigi's houses and the national picture-gallery); on to Siena, (Piazza del Campo, the public palace, the Mangia tower, the cathedral, which has many works of art, among which the famous Duccio da Boninsegna "Maestà"); Arezzo , in the past Piero della Francesca and Petrarca's native town and today famous for its goldsmith industry, offers Saint Francis Church, the cathedral, the palace of fraternity of laymen and the Piazza Grande, where, once a month, they have an antique trade market.
We suggest a visit to lesser known towns, such as Cortona , San Gimignano , with its famous towers and Pienza , a Renaissance jewel.
We must mention some important seaside resorts, such as Forte dei Marmi, Castiglione della Pescaia, Follonica, Marina di Pietrasanta, Lido di Camaiore, Viareggio, Marina di Carrara, Marina di Massa, Marina di Bibbona and Marina di Cecina.
The attractions of the Isola d'Elba are its coast, which has very wide shores and inlets, reachable only by sea, and the crystalline depths, loved by skin-divers and rich in flora and fauna, defended by an intelligent protection policy.
The island is also a paradise for bird watching and naturalistic tourists: on foot, by bicycle or in the saddle you can explore the paths through the countryside.
We suggest you visit Portoferraio where you will find the modest palace in which the exiled Napoleon lived, and the Villa San Martino, Napoleon's summer home.
For lovers of natural beauties, we suggest a visit to Circeo National Park, where you can admire the roe deer, the fallow deer and the wild boar, then on to Maremma Park and Uccellina Park.
In Tuscany you can find a lot of spas, such as Montecatini Terme, Chianciano Terme, Saturnia, San Giuliano Terme, Cascina Terme and Bagni di Lucca, an old tradition spa, suitable for the treatment of arthritis and rheumatism, S. Giovanni Terme and S. Casciano dei bagni.
